Mission

The Fox Cities Cycling Association works to make the Fox Cities a great place to ride. We serve our community through our Events (free rides open to everyone in our community), Programs (Bike Ambassador, Trips for Kids, and more), and Advocacy (expansion of local bike facilities and promoting the Bicycle Friendly America program).

Our Board of Directors

Gwen Sargeant

Vice President
Gwen joined the board in 2012 and currently serves as vice president. Gwen works at Appleton Bicycle Shop where her family has been in business for over 75 years. She serves on the Appleton Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and the Fox Cities & Oshkosh MPO Bicycle and Pedestrian Steering Committee. Gwen is also a City of Appleton bike ambassador. Gwen enjoys leading and participating in the Friday night casual pace “moonlight rides”.

Casey Calmes

President
Casey's an average cyclist with a serious bicycle addiction. He is a dedicated commuter and enjoys challenge and adventure rides. Casey started commuting in Madison. Moved to Iowa and lived there for 16 years. He started road biking and his bicycling advocacy and volunteering while living in Des Moines. Working on Bike to Work Day, (Week and Month), Complete City Initiative and Des Moines Bike Collective.

Paul Gessler

Paul joined the FCCA board in late 2017 after moving back to the Fox Cities from Milwaukee. He enjoys seeing Wisconsin’s cities and scenery from a bike. As an engineer and cyclist commuter, he enjoys reading and reviewing infrastructure development plans and ensuring that our transportation system works for all users.

Gregg Graycarek

Gregg Joined the Board in 2017. Gregg Bikes for enjoyment and exercise. As a senior cyclist enjoys being outside and traveling with his bike and exploring new areas. He is involved in National Bike Week, Bike to the Beat, FCCA participation in the Christmas Parade here in Appleton and in Tour D’ Marco (an annual fund raiser in his winter home in Florida). 

Aaron Roecker 

Aaron joined the board in early 2020.  As a lover of all types of riding, he can be seen riding on country roads, dirt, or groomed fat bike trails; he also rides for transportation too.  Aaron works as a music teacher in the Appleton Area School District and can also be found working part time at Cranked Bike Studio. He shares his love of riding with his awesome wife, Kim, and his lab mix, Guster. In February, he and his wife welcomed their son into the world, and they look forward to including him on on their adventures.
